What We Do

Concrete That Performs and Looks Like It Should

Most concrete gets poured, finished, and forgotten. It does its job structurally but doesn't contribute anything to the look of the property. Decorative concrete changes that equation. The same structural slab that carries the load also serves as the finished surface, which means you skip the cost of a separate flooring material on top.

We handle decorative concrete for commercial properties where the surface matters. Entryways that set the tone for a business. Walkways and plazas that need to look good under foot traffic. Interior floors where polished or stained concrete is the finished floor. Patios and outdoor dining areas that need to handle weather and still look sharp.

Artistic Construction has been pouring decorative concrete across Cherokee County and North Georgia for over 22 years. We help you pick the right finish for the application, source the materials, and pour it with the care these finishes require. Decorative work is unforgiving — timing, technique, and experience are everything.

Multiple finish options to match any design direction or budget

Finish Options

Decorative Concrete Finishes We Offer

Each finish has a different look, different durability characteristics, and different cost. Here's what we work with on commercial projects.

Stamped Concrete

Patterns pressed into wet concrete that mimic stone, brick, slate, tile, or wood. Color is added through integral pigment or surface-applied hardener. The result is a textured, multi-toned surface that looks like a premium material at a fraction of the installed cost.

Exposed Aggregate

The top layer of cement paste is washed away to reveal the stone underneath. Creates a natural, slip-resistant surface with visual texture. The look depends on the aggregate blend, which can range from standard gravel to custom decorative stone mixes.

Stained & Dyed Concrete

Acid stains react with the concrete to create translucent, mottled color. Water-based stains and dyes offer more uniform, predictable colors. Both can be applied to new or existing concrete that's in good condition. Multiple colors and patterns are possible.

Integral Color

Pigment mixed directly into the concrete before it's poured. The color goes all the way through the slab, so chips and wear don't reveal a different color underneath. Available in a wide range of earth tones and custom colors.

Polished Concrete

The concrete surface is mechanically ground and polished to a high sheen using progressively finer diamond tooling. Creates a durable, low-maintenance interior floor with a modern look. Common in retail, restaurants, offices, and showrooms.

Custom Formwork & Edges

Custom-shaped forms for curved edges, radius corners, seat walls, planters, and other features that go beyond standard straight-line pours. We build the forms to the design and pour concrete that matches the aesthetic of the rest of the project.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Decorative concrete refers to any concrete finish that goes beyond a standard broom or trowel finish. This includes stamped patterns, exposed aggregate, acid staining, integral color, and polished finishes. Commercially, it's used on entryways, patios, walkways, pool decks, plaza areas, and interior floors where the concrete serves as both the structural surface and the finished floor.

Stamped concrete gets its pattern pressed into the surface while the concrete is still wet. It creates a textured, three-dimensional look that can mimic stone, brick, slate, or wood. Stained concrete is applied to cured concrete and changes the color of the surface without adding texture. Staining works on both new pours and existing concrete.

Some finishes can be applied to existing concrete and some can't. Staining, polishing, and overlay systems work on existing surfaces that are in decent condition. Stamped concrete and exposed aggregate have to be done during the original pour. We'll evaluate your existing concrete and tell you which options are realistic for your situation.

When installed correctly and sealed properly, decorative concrete holds up well under commercial traffic. The underlying concrete is the same structural material as any other slab. The decorative treatment is either integral to the pour or applied as a surface treatment with a protective sealer. Resealing every few years keeps it looking good and protected.

Exposed aggregate is a finish where the top layer of cement paste is washed away after the pour to reveal the stone and aggregate underneath. The result is a textured, slip-resistant surface with a natural look. The appearance depends on the aggregate in the mix, which can range from standard gravel to decorative stone blends selected for color and texture.

Both. We work with you on material selection, color choices, pattern options, and layout planning. If you have a design already, we'll execute it. If you need help figuring out what will look right and hold up for your specific application, we'll walk you through the options and make recommendations based on what we've seen perform well over 22 years of concrete work.

Decorative finishes add cost over a standard broom finish, but the amount depends on the type of finish and the complexity of the project. A simple integral color add might be modest. A full stamped pattern with multiple colors and a custom layout costs more. We price every project based on the actual scope and give you a detailed estimate so you can compare options.
