Walkout, daylight and below-grade basements in North Georgia.
Which kind of basement a house has decides most of the scope and much of the price of finishing it. On the sloped lots common across North Georgia, most basements are daylight or walkout: a daylight basement has two or three walls below grade and one wall with real windows, and a walkout adds a door to grade at the low corner. A full below-grade basement is buried on all four sides.
Artistic Construction finishes all three at $75 to $125 per square foot. What separates them is the work around that number: a buried basement needs an egress window and well cut for every bedroom, and a walkout's low corner is where water collects, so grade and drainage come before drywall.

A typical finished basement takes six to eight weeks on site. A bathroom, a kitchenette, drainage correction or a new egress opening can push it toward ten. We give you a detailed schedule before we start.
