The hard part, handled
Get the structure right first.
Basements are where shortcuts show up later.
Low ceilings, support columns, egress requirements, moisture, the things that make basements tricky are exactly where 23 years of experience pays off. We handle steel beams, code-compliant egress, ceiling height, and waterproofing so the finished space is comfortable, dry, and holds up for the long haul.

Why finish a basement
The smartest square footage in the house.
It’s already under your roof. Finishing it is the most efficient way to add real, livable space, and lasting value, without the cost and disruption of building out.
Maximize Living Space
Untapped square footage waiting to be used. Instead of paying for a costly addition, expand into what you already own.
Increase Property Value
One of the smartest ways to add value to your home. Buyers notice a finished basement because it is usable space, not storage.
Make It Yours
Guest suite, game room, home theater, even an income-generating rental unit. One space that flexes to fit your life.
Built to Entertain
Movie marathons, game nights and the big game with friends over. The basement becomes the family’s entertainment hub.
Specialty basements
What homeowners add.
Your basement has the potential to be more than storage. These are the spaces homeowners around Woodstock and North Georgia ask us for most.
Home Theater
Bring the movie experience home. Tiered seating, surround sound and the lighting to match.
Game Room & Wet Bar
A built-in bar, beverage fridge and room for the pool table, built for hosting family and friends.
Guest Suite
A private bedroom and full bath so visitors, in-laws, or grown kids have their own space.
Home Gym
Durable flooring, mirrors and ventilation for a fitness space that keeps you motivated.
Playroom
A safe, washable, kid-proof zone that keeps the toys off the main floor.
Home Office
A quiet, finished space to work, wired, lit and away from the noise.

Custom basement remodeling
Already finished, just dated?
If your basement feels outdated or underutilized, we redesign what’s already down there. That can mean a modern refresh of the finishes, a guest suite added where there was storage, or a cramped layout opened back up. We use quality materials, keep you posted as it moves, and hold to the date and the budget we gave you.
- ✓Custom basement redesign and planning
- ✓Updated finishes, flooring and lighting
- ✓Built-in storage and modern features
- ✓Guest suites and bathrooms added
- ✓Reworked layouts and wider openings
The finish work
It’s the finishes that sell it.
Anyone can frame a basement. The difference between “the basement” and a room you actually want to be in is in the details, the lighting, the millwork, and the way sound stays where it should.
We design those details in house, so the wet bar, the built-ins, the ceiling and the flooring read as one room instead of six separate decisions.

The details that make it finished.
Wet Bars & Custom Countertops
A custom wet bar is what turns the basement into the room people gather in: good countertops, built-in shelving and space for a wine cooler and sink.
Shelving, Storage & Cabinetry
Built-in shelving, cabinets and creative storage that fit the layout instead of fighting it, so the clutter finally has somewhere to go.
Custom Lighting
Layered lighting for a room with few windows. Recessed cans for a clean, modern look, plus statement fixtures where they earn it.
Soundproofing
Insulated walls and ceilings for home theaters, music studios and playrooms, so the basement stays private and the rest of the house stays quiet.
Tile, Hardwood or Premium Carpet
Durable flooring built for below grade: tile, hardwood and plush carpet that hold up to everyday use.
Accent Walls & Ceiling Designs
Shiplap, reclaimed wood, custom wall paneling and decorative ceilings, the details that make a basement look built rather than closed in.

Rated 5 stars for 23 years
Our clients trust us with their home.
Basement remodels have a reputation for delays, hidden costs and a contractor who stops answering the phone. We built our process to take all three off the table.
Transparent Pricing
An itemized estimate up front, with no hidden costs and no line items that appear halfway through the job.
3-Month Average
Three months is our average across every project we run. Your basement gets its own dated schedule before framing starts.
Clear Communication
Daily updates and a photo from your site, so you always know what happened today and what happens next.
Custom, Within Budget
Top-quality materials, and a custom design scoped to the budget you set at the start, not the one it drifts into.
In their words
Built right, the first time.
They were fantastic, willing to take on projects we hadn’t anticipated and find the best solutions. They don’t just walk out when the work is done; Bobby gets it fixed.
A whopping amount of ZERO stress. You are in truly good hands from start to finish.
Quality work, and both jobs completed within our aggressive timelines. I have nothing but good things to say.
There may be a miscommunication or two with this kind of work, but Bobby made everything right immediately and exceeded all of our expectations. My wife and I could not be happier.
We interviewed several contractors, but as soon as Bobby left we knew he was our guy. Responsive, available 24/7, and patient with every question.
Great at problem solving, listening to my requests and making my dream kitchen, master bath and separate garage apartment a reality. I wouldn’t work with anyone else.
The work was meticulously done, promptly, and they were very responsive. It’s your reputation on the line when you refer someone, and Bobby made my client very happy.
I refer clients to Artistic Construction not just because of their high quality work, but also because of their honesty and integrity.
Good questions
Basement FAQ.
How long does a basement take to finish?+
Most finished basements take 6–10 weeks depending on size, plumbing and structural work. We give you a detailed schedule before we start.
What can I use my finished basement for?+
Home theaters, game rooms, guest suites and in-law apartments, home offices, home gyms, wet bars, kids’ playrooms and recreation space are the most common. We design the layout around how your family will use it day to day.
Can you add a bathroom downstairs?+
Yes, full or half baths are one of the most popular additions. We handle the plumbing, venting and any pump system your layout needs.
Do I need permits for a basement remodel?+
In most cases, yes. Basement finishing typically requires a building permit, and adding plumbing for a bathroom or wet bar requires a plumbing permit too. We handle every application and inspection, and we make sure bedrooms and exits meet code, including egress windows where they’re required.
How do you handle moisture and ventilation?+
We assess moisture before framing and address it properly: drainage, vapor control, ventilation and the right materials. Georgia’s humidity and red clay soil are hard on a finished basement, and it’s exactly where shortcuts show up later.
What’s included in basement finishing?+
In-house design and planning, framing, drywall and insulation, electrical and lighting, HVAC and plumbing where needed, custom flooring, and built-in storage and cabinetry, plus a bathroom or wet bar if you want one.
